At one time, Trading Stamps of all kinds were ubiquitous; now, it's hard to find people who have ever heard of them.S&H was the first of the brands to gain and maintain national popularity.You'd get trading stamps with each purchase, and how much you purchased determined how many stamps you'd get. Then you'd take the stamps home and paste them into your Savings Book.The stamps pictured on the left are "ones" -- you'd need either 25 or 50 ones to fill a page (as pictured on the right), depending on the brand of trading stamps you had.There were larger stamps of higher denominations (see Plaid Stamp photo), and the guidelines on the Savings Book pages told you how many you needed and where to paste them in on the page.
