post links to your favorite OTR related sites!

hi all, many of you know of my OTR site, http://TennesseeBillsOTR.com. i also publish http://OtrShareAndTrade.com which houses a variety of otr sites for people.i finally seem to have managed to get the main site at http://OtrShareAndTrade.com to work! it is a link site with OTR related catagories.Although i publish my own OTR site, OTR Share and Trade is an unbiased site where the OTR community can post links for their favorite otr related sites and people can vote on them and write reviews for the sites.i would like this site to be a comprehensive OTR link site encompassing as many otr related web sites (including the dreaded vendors!) as possible. You can post links to sites, forums, yahoo (and other) groups, p2p member sites, vendors and current 'audio drama' producers and whatever else that might be out there that i can't think of at the moment.there's no mention on otr share and trade that it is published by me. i want this to be a community resource, open to all otr related sites and groups. my only roles in the site are... approving the listings... i don't want a bunch of unrelated spam... and, of course paying the bills to keep it online.please pass the word about the site on to other groups that you belong to.thanks, tennesseebill

In Stock-Broker’s Clerk, the intrepid pair travel by train to Birmingham, and it is nostalgic to think that despite it being 1889, when Holmes and Watson alighted at New Street station they would have been greeted by cobbled streets, eighteenth-century houses and a town still largely undeveloped.

"Grandpa's iPod" - my new audio blog

I posted an announcement a day or two ago introducing myself and my collection of records. I've now set up a new blog just for these records: grandpasipod.tumblr.com. I'm uploading audio files, images of disc labels, and other info there. My plan is to put up a new audio file and picture (if there's a good label on the disc) each day. I will also upload files to archive.org once I get that figured out. (I played with it a little today but I'm still kind of overwhelmed by the site!)Feel free to stop by my blog and see what I'm doing!

Little Orphan Annie

Little+Orphan+Annie.jpg
Little Orphan Annie was a daily American comic strip, created by Harold Gray (1894–1968), that first appeared on August 5, 1924. The title, suggested by an editor at the Chicago Tribune Syndicate, was inspired by James Whitcomb Riley's popular 1885 poem "Little Orphant Annie". Beginning when she was ten years old, Chicago actress Shirley Bell Cole (born 1920) starred on radio's Little Orphan Annie from 1930 to 1940. In 2007, she continued to make personal appearances talking about her experiences on the radio show. Her memoir, Acting Her Age: My Ten Years as a Ten-Year-Old (2005), won two awards at the Chicago Book Clinic's Book and Media Show. From 1931 to 1933, the radio show had two different casts, one in Chicago and one in San Francisco, daily performing the same scripts, many written by Ferrin Fraser. Floy Hughes portrayed Annie in the West Coast version. Little Orphan Annie began in 1930 in Chicago on WGN (720), and on April 6, 1931, with Ovaltine as the sponsor, the 15-minute series graduated to (MORE) .

Happy Halloween!

Several years ago, I started keeping a list of Halloween themed internet sites. It's grown pretty large, though far from comprehensive, & includes quite the miscellany of things online for (or even vaguely related to) Halloween, including: sites about the history of Halloween, sites about haunted places, ghost stories & poetry online, recommendations for scary movies, Halloween music sites (thanks Katy!), a recommendation for THIS wonderful place, Halloween clips on YouTube (& other places), recipe sites, costume sites, pumpkin carving sites (not to mention virtual pumpkin carving games), & a few silly online games & activities to put you in the holiday "spirit." I've just finished checking all the links to make sure they're current, & there's a lot there if you're interested/ curious/ really bored. Hope you visit, hope you enjoy, & please feel free to make suggestions for next year's list.http://themadblonde.livejournal.com/324676.htmlI'll be offline 'til after Halloween, so wishing everyone here a most delightful, spooky, & Happy Halloween! -Karen

Roy Rogers Show, The

.
roy+2.jpg
Roy Rogers (born Leonard Franklin Slye) (November 5, 1911 – July 6, 1998), was a singer and cowboy actor, as well as the namesake of the well-known Roy Rogers Restaurants chain. He and his second wife Dale Evans, his golden palomino Trigger, and his German Shepherd Dog, Bullet, were featured in over one hundred movies and The Roy Rogers Show. The show ran on radio for nine years before moving to television from 1951 through 1957. His productions usually featured a sidekick, often either Pat Brady, (who drove a jeep called "Nellybelle") or the crotchety Gabby Hayes. Roy's nickname was "King of the Cowboys". Dale's nickname was "Queen of the West." For many Americans (and non-Americans), he was the embodiment of a cowboy.
