Question?????

Have a question for all you timespast fans out there. In the past I have posted multiple files by zipping them using either 7zip of IZArc zipping programs. I had a couple of people tell me, they were having trouble unzipping the files. So here's the question; How do you prefer your files, if there is too many to post individually? Is there a better (more common) zipping source I am missing? If there is a better way to post let me know, I want it not only to be easy to upload, but also easy for you to download. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

P.S. I don't want any of you to be like this

  • Zip is the only compression that is supported on NING servers. All types of Zip are supported. My opinion having seen the posts in question is that the problem is with the use of 7zip. The older winzip does not support this format and most people not knowing anything about the format do not select it as an option to support on their Winzip ,tools options. My guess is that if you stick to the straight winzip there will be no more problems. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rick
  • Yep, you're right Rosanna. Thanks for pulling me up on that. Seems like we haven't spoken in ages!!
I can't tell which OS's Multiple Zip works with, but it sounds cool. I'll have to check out 7zip and MultiZip and see which will work for me.
Well, 5C...now you know not to listen to this chick for computer advice. lol The Hardy Boys were a blast from the past, btw. I'd forgotten how much I missed reading them. It was great to hear them. Really well done, as well. :)) Thanks! Effie
  • Super Cool Multiple Zip is a shareware zip utility that zips and unzips. Check it out here:

  • I'm not certain of compatibility between programs. One would think they would be but that's not always the case.
I recently saw where where someone had zipped with winzip (thinking it the best one to use) and someone was having problems unzipping with, I think, 7zip.You probably know what I mean.
Maybe the best thing to do is for everyone to decide on a common program to use. ..and one that's compatible with both PC's and Mac.
I'm not sure about Effie's choice "Zipit"..it seems to be a Mac based utility.
  • I think Zipit works with both PC's and Macs. I just downloaded it, but haven't installed it yet. I have to zip a cart load of files and move them somewhere. You can google it. Hope it helps. Hmmm....I think I sorta am like that at the moment, but it has nothing to do with you at all. lol Hope that helps. Effie
