Morry Powell and Peter Bathurst (1948-1949)

I came across a review of an Austrialian version of Sherlock Holmes that I have never read about.  The review is from the January 26, 1949 edition of Variety, page 42.  See link below.  Does anyone have any further info on this show?Variety (January 1949) : Variety : Free Download, Borrow, and Streaming : Internet Archive

Dr Watson and the Darkwater Hall Mystery BBC TV 1974

I've been looking for this Doctor Watson TV film/play for years. I believe it was only broadcast once.It popped up on Youtube 4 months ago. Happening to look up and see Kingsley Amis' Lucky Jim on my bookshelf yesterday whilst trying a few searches I recalled he wrote The Darkwater Hall Mystery, which lead to me searching for Darkwater, and up it popped. It's never had an official release on…

A Ghost Story for Christmas Lot No 249

Trying to recall ACD's story Lot No. 249, I don't think there's anybody like Abercrombie Smith's friend, who I don't think is named but is played by John Heffernan, in the original story. Escaped ape in…

  • I wonder if anyone can post Chapter 9, Second Report of Dr. Watson, from the Hound of the Baskervilles as read by John Telfer. I seem to have misplaced it. Many thanks.

  • I can't stand the Sherlock Holmes movies made recently. They can't change a classic to suit today's young people and do it justice.
  • Thank´s for having me!!! :)

  • Just noticed that Radio 4 EXtra, has the Sherlock Holmes v Dracula play available to listen/download for the next 23hours.........
