December 23, 1928: On this day the National Broadcasting Company was established its coast to coast network which lead to the golden age of radio.

The NBC has several networks, one of them is The NBC Orange Network or also known as the NBC Pacific Coast network. NBC Pacific Coast network was a National Broadcasting Company radio network that operated in the western United States from 1927 to 1936,that was before two-way broadcast-quality communications circuits reached the West to relay the larger NBC Red Network and NBC Blue Network.

The Orange Network created their own program for the West Coast listeners. December 23 1928 was the first time when The Orange network directly relay the eastern program, that was ran until 1936, Orange Network also fed some programs from Red and some from Blue.

In the 1930s, thousands of American farmers fled their drought-ridden and Depression-ravaged homelands of Oklahoma and Arkansas for California, where they hoped to find a better life. What they did find was exploitation and more misery, as memorably chronicled by John Steinbeck in his novel The Grapes of Wrath. Two young academics recorded the stories and music of these all-American refugees, and it is their first-hand accounts of events that can be heard in this program. Producer Jolyon Jenkins

From April of 2007 through October 2008 Icons Radio Hour from MODA Entertainment left us with 50 shows. It was hosted by writer/director John Mulholand. Each week, John interviewed those who know classic Hollywood best - actors, writers, directors, producers, and their colleagues, family and friends. The premiere show was co-hosted by Stephen Bogart, son of Hollywood legends Humphrey Bogart & Lauren Bacall.

Any Interest On Timespast ?

This site might not be new to others but I just discovered it.  The nice site is ran by Jimbo Berkey and offers free classic movies, tv shows, music and radio shows for watching online or downloading. 

Most that I have seen are in pretty good shape depending on the age.  Some are a little fuzzy but hey!  it's free and mostly unavailable in any shape or form.

Wow!...I forgot this was ever here...

I don't know how often people read or post on each other's blog.  In my case, I forgot I even had on (lol!  )In case anyone does read this I just wanted to alert you to the fact that I attempted to purchase a subscription to the subscription service called uploaded.net and my personal bank alerted me to the fact that there has been numerous scam reports  and complaints filed against this site.  I don't know if it is the site or somehow someone unrelated to the site is perpetrating fraud and criminal activities against people that attempt to signup.  Luckily, when the charge on my bank card came through to authorize the transaction my bank alerted me to ensure that the charge was legitimate.  That is when they informed me of the problems.  I decided not to allow the charge to be made.  It could have gone through with no issues but I decided to play it safe and avoid problems.  I did notice that the company behind the site was in Holland but the money went to the UK.  (once again...probably legit but who knows?)  Even if not legit, I only fund this account when I am going to make a purchase and only for the total amount of the purchase.  Cheers!
