Colonel Harland David Sanders (1890–1980) was the American entrepreneur who founded the Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) restaurant chain. While he is now a global corporate icon, his success came late in life after decades of failure in various professions, including railroad work, insurance sales, and law.
