Key Largo is a classic 1948 American film noir crime drama directed by John Huston and starring Humphrey Bogart, Edward G. Robinson, and Lauren Bacall. The film is based on a 1939 play of the same name by Maxwell Anderson.
The story takes place primarily within a secluded hotel on Key Largo, Florida, as a hurricane approaches. Disillusioned World War II veteran Frank McCloud (Humphrey Bogart) arrives at the hotel to pay his respects to the family of a fallen comrade. He meets the hotel owner, the wheelchair-bound James Temple (Lionel Barrymore), and his widowed daughter-in-law, Nora Temple (Lauren Bacall).
