Breaking Bad is a critically acclaimed American neo-Western crime drama series widely regarded as one of the greatest television shows of all time. It ran for five seasons on AMC from 2008 to 2013 and has since developed into a full media franchise.

Premise

The series follows Walter White (Bryan Cranston), a dispirited, over-qualified high-school chemistry teacher in Albuquerque, New Mexico. After being diagnosed with inoperable stage-three lung cancer and given a short time to live, White decides to enter a dangerous life of crime to secure his family's financial future.

He partners with his former student, a small-time drug dealer named Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul), to manufacture and distribute an extremely pure, signature blue methamphetamine. As White delves deeper into the criminal underworld, adopting the alias "Heisenberg," he transforms from a mild-mannered family man into a ruthless drug kingpin, putting his family and himself in constant danger, particularly from his brother-in-law, a DEA agent named Hank Schrader (Dean Norris).
