Using the Chrome Browser built-in cast feature on your computer or phone is an easy way to view Times Past on your TV, especially to watch video or listen to audio',
To use cast in Chrome,
click the three-dot "More" icon at the top right, select "Cast," choose your cast receiver, (TV or streaming box from the list) then choose whether to cast the current tab, the entire screen, or just audio. You can also right-click a webpage and choose "Cast" from the context menu. To stop casting, click the "Cast" icon and select "Stop casting"
How to cast
- Open Chrome on your computer.
- Click the three-dot "More" icon at the top right of the browser window.
- Select "Cast, save, and share," then "Cast...".
- Choose the receiver (e.g., your TV) from the list that appears.
- Select your source:
- To cast a specific tab, choose the desired tab from the dropdown menu.
- To cast your entire desktop, click the "Sources" dropdown and select "Cast screen".
- To cast audio only, right-click a webpage and select "Cast".
- Click the "Cast" icon on the right side of the address bar.
- Select "Stop casting".
- Pin the Cast button: Right-click the Cast icon when it appears and select "Always show icon" to keep it on the toolbar for easier access.
- Right-click method: For quick access, you can right-click anywhere on a webpage and select "Cast" from the context menu to cast that specific tab
Using your Phone
Step 1: Connect your devices
- Connect both your phone and your Chromecast-enabled TV (or other casting device) to the same Wi-Fi network.
Open the Google Chrome app on your phone.
Go to a website with a video you want to watch.
Tap the video to make the player controls appear.
If your device is ready to cast, a cast icon will appear in the bottom right of the player controls.
Tap the cast icon. A pop-up will appear showing nearby castable devices.
- Select your TV from the list to start casting.
- Once casting, you can use the player controls on your phone to pause, rewind, or fast-forward the video.
- If you navigate away from the video page, you may lose the controls. To regain them, you will need to go back to the video page to access them again
Add the Cast button to the Chrome toolbar
Though not required, recommend you pin the Cast button to your Chrome toolbar. This will allow for easier access to Cast functionality from any web page.
To pin the Cast button to the Chrome toolbar:
- In your Chrome browser, click More
Save and Share
Cast...
- The Cast button
will temporarily appear in your toolbar. To keep it there permanently, right-click the Cast button
, then click Always show icon.
If the Cast button is already pinned to your toolbar on your browser, you'll find the Cast button in the Chrome toolbar.
Note:
The 1Movies tab when used on Times Past with Chrome Browser has a icon to cast to TV in bottom right after video starts to play.
