  • My apologies Jim.  I did not see the new offerings.  Thank You for being so observant and Thank you Bob for setting the record straight.  --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------  Rick

    • I'm afraid I'm confused--are these the Crouch/Torridge files or not? I have those two from previous postings. Thanks for any information.

    • Yes they are Steve. They are the ones you have.  ----------------  Rick

    • Thanks, Rick.

  • I believe that these are not in your set.

    • Thank you for trying.  I am afraid the file you have listed as "The Kraut End Mystery" is listed on the first tab of this discussion as "The Crouch End Mystery".  The second file you have is called "Tragedy at Porridge Lodge" is listed on the second tab as "Tragedy at Torridge Lodge" (Aug 01, 1984).  I look forward to any new downloads of this show.   Based on the previous comments, there are a number of shows that exist, but are not currently available.

    • I Thank You!  ---------------------------------  Rick

  • I just noticed a post on otrplus. It's a copy of the post on the Facebook Springbok page so I'll copy it here as well.

"Dear Springbok Radio Digital listeners & supporters. After 3 years of providing a selection of Springbok Radio's past it is with sadness that I announce that the service will end Monday at 6am SA time. Health related matters have been the main reason for this descision. During September the entire archive collection of the Springbok Radio Preservation Society including the website will be handed over to the SABC Sound Archive for further preservation. I hope Retha is ready for the long & important task that awates. I would like to take this oppurtunity in thanking all that were involved in the service during the past 3 years, not forgetting the Springbok Radio personalities, actors, sound men, writers & producers of the past. It is my hope that the SABC will continue this legacy. After many years of actively being involved in Springbok's preservation it is time to bid it farewell & hand it back to the SABC. Thanking You. Frans Erasmus (Springbok Radio Preservation Society of SA). All enquiries regarding Springbok Radio to be addressed to Retha. Her e-mail is buysr-at-sabc-dot-co-dot-za"

I don't think I'll ever get hold of Frans now. I didn't know they had a Facebook page.

  • Just to let you know AlexM ever since you posted I've been trying to get info on the other shows.

I don't have time to go through and find links right now but the first email I tried I got a reply from a lady called Retha Buys. She couldn't help me but said she would pass me on to Frans Erasmus who I was told knows more about the archives and history. I've tried a 2nd email address as I couldn't find one for Frans Erasmus. It's for the preservation society and I thought maybe Frans is involved with them. I've actually tried twice but haven't even had an acknowlegment.

Maybe it's time to try starting again with Retha Buys. Feel free to try yourself.

    • Maybe Retha Buy knows his email.
