Does anyone have a version of "The Engineer's Thumb" without the musical inserts? These versions were the ones that were most often heard on Canadian radio, but are edited to make way for commercials.

Sorry Sandy, I can't help, but like you I would be very pleased to find a less cut version than the one you mention, which I usually refer to as the "fiddle" version because of the intro. Presumably the BBC has only the fiddle version since it was the one they broadcast in 2018 on Radio 4 extra.

As an aside, I'm thankful that this is the only story that seems to exist only in this format. For all of the others there are extant versions of the less edited versions.
