    I do believe, after a decent listening, that the Beeb's decision to go with Williams and Merrison was a very good move. Sir Michael is the finest Watson this Sherlockian has ever heard. Had Ralph Richardson and John Gielgud's roles been reversed, I dare say they would definitely be contenders for a similar status.
