This is a Russian film from 1986 in which both Holmes and Watson are female. I've been looking for a decent copy for years.
Sadly, there are no available subtitles. Youtube does have a low-quality version with Russian "annotations" which Google can translate, but the translation adds a really low-brow unintentional comedic element. It's really awful, which is sad, because the movie seems pretty good.
My own study of Russian ended in grad school nearly <cough, cough> years ago and was limited even then to technical and scientific Russian for translation of physics and related texts.
If there's anyone here who would try a running translation, I'd be glad to put it into a proper .srt file.
