Hound of the Baskervilles - But what version?

I have what appears to be a two-part recording of Hound of the Baskervilles. The two parts run for 34m42s and 33m30s but there is no intro or credits. I was wondering if someone could identify this for me (ie. actors playing Holmes/Watson and (if it is a radio broadcasdt) broadcast date). The files are uploading to http://www.sendspace.com/folder/h3niim in case anyone is interested.

  • Thanks, Charlie (and yes, I'm coming to this one very late)... Is the recording still in your sendspace folder? I don't see it there.

    • I'm sure Charlie won't mind if I step in here.

I've also used Sendspace as host.

      Part 2

If you see more than one download button for any of the files be careful. Below is an image of the correct link to use.

    • Thanks Jake.  Sorry Magersfontein for not responding; I've been preoccupied with family matters and not checked in here for a while.

    • No apologies needed, Charlie. I hope things are all right with you.

  • Our own Magersfontein reported a little about this recording in the District Messenger, The Newsletter of the Sherlock Holmes Society of London, #147, 1/23/95

"David Stuart Davies tells me of a recording, by unnamed actors, of The Hound of the Baskervilles The Hound of the Baskervilles The Hound of the Baskervilles (Telling Tales, Unit One, Mill Lane, Trading Estate, Purley Way, Croydon CR0 4AA).

    • We may have to call this "The Curious Incident of the Uncredited Recording".

      :-)

  • Thanks to both Charlie and Douglas for a new addition to the library!

  • Many thanks for this, Charlie!

  • I believe it's Carlton Hobbs and Norman Shelly.
