Congratulations to the man who was born on January 6th 1859 --though I cannot remember how this was determined!
Apparently, that makes Holmes and Watson about in their late 20's / early 30's when they met and began having their adventures together.
(Stealing from the best sources...) It was Orson Welles who once said, "Sherlock Holmes never lived, and for that reason can never die!" Reichenbach Falls aside, that is an amazing tribute.
With all due respect, good sir, Mr. Holmes was born in 1854, not 1859. This is his 162nd birthday. This is supported by Baring-Gould, Klinger, the Sherlock Holmes Museum and, of course, the BSI.
wherever your apiary is, I know all of the bees are excited to wish you well on your birthday, though maybe not as excited as our friend Bob is, his, and my respect for you and Watson knows no bounds, may every year continue to be 1895
