BF-Sherlock Holmes

My Profound thanks to Mplshowie for the files The Death and Life (Duration: 120') CAST: Roger Llewellyn (Sherlock Holmes) SYNOPSIS: A fascinating drama in which Sherlock Holmes steps off the page to save his life and in doing so faces a heart-stopping revelation about his own existence. Haunted by the tag of ‘the Sherlock Holmes man’ and tired of his catchpenny detective creation, author Arthur Conan Doyle employs the services of Professor Moriarty to bring an end to the career of the Great Detective. Aware that some dark force is bent on his destruction, Holmes rises to the challenge and not only encounters his nemesis Moriarty but also learns the terrible truth about his very being. While Doyle appears to achieve his end when Holmes supposedly falls into the terrible abyss of the Reichenbach Falls, he has not reckoned on his fictional character’s immortality. In a remarkable reversal of fortune, the detective appears to triumph. This unusual, challenging and often highly amusing drama not only presents a fresh and intriguing insight into the Sherlock Holmes saga but also explores the nature of the strange and unnerving relationship between creator and creation. AUTHOR: David Stuart Davies DIRECTOR: Nicholas Briggs SOUND DESIGN: Nicholas Briggs MUSIC: Simon Slater RECORDED DATE: 11 September 2009 RELEASE DATE: December 2009 CHRONOLOGICAL PLACEMENT: Throughout the life of Sherlock Holmes and beyond...

  • Thank you.

  • I have just been reading about Big Finish's third season of Sherlock Holmes titled 'The Ordeals of Sherlock Holmes'.
It appears to be four episodes of 60 minutes each. I must say I generally prefer the 90 minute format for dramas and plays. However these four episodes do appear to be linked - 'Four decades. Four cases. One solution'. I couldn't find any individual episode titles. I can't work out if they will all be released at the same time or individually (weekly maybe during December) either.
The Big Finish site has a short trailer you can download as a mp3. It's under 3MB so I uploaded it to Ning. It's only 80 seconds long/short.
