Brilliant. Thank you for these. I had given up hope of ever finding the earlier version. According to Michael Pointer's book "The Public Life of Sherlock Holmes" the date was 16th December 1964 rather than 1963. The second version went out on 22nd June 1980.

I've just checked Ronald De Waal's monumental bibliography "The Universal Sherlock Holmes". He says that the original version was broadcast on the 19th December 1963. Knowing how scrupulous his research was, I think he's almost certainly correct.
Found these by accident, while Rick and I were searching for a set of shows that he had lost due to hardrive failure. Does anybody know or have heard of an Australian series about Sherlock Holmes,I think the word "reminiscence" was in the title. Anyhow if anyone has it I would love to have a copy of the series....................mplshowie
The name of this Aussie produced shows were Eight Tales and Reminiscences of Sherlock Holmes,there was a bunch of them.They were made in the 50's. If anyone has or knows where to get them let me know.........................mplshowie
