A letter to Dr Watson

Last month, at the annual dinner of the Sherlock Holmes Society of London, I read out this letter from Inspector Lestrade to Dr Watson. I hope you'll find it interesting.

  • Thanks Roger. Looking forward to it.
    • Applause. That was great Roger. The language you used was perfect. Very Lestradian! It could of been old rat face himself. I'd suggest a series of books if it wasn't for the fact that Mei Trow has already done some.
    • Oh dear, I'd wondered what had happen to that letter. I was looking for it recently and for the life of I simply couldn't find it. I suspect my housekeeper was on one of "we must clear up all this mess!" rampages and the letter along with several other documents I been unable to locate was sent to the museum. Ah, well cats out of the bag now. Lestrade will just have to accept my explanation for it's "publication" and not "have me" as he threatened.

    • It is good to see you here again. I had thought you were off romancing the women of three continents!
    • I blame Mr H! How did it go?

"It can't hurt now," was Mr. Sherlock Holmes's comment when, for the tenth time in as many years, I asked his leave to reveal the following narrative..."

Thank you for sharing this. Would you mind if i sent it to a few Holmesian friends who are not members here?

    • Please do, Bob.
