The Mystery of the Reluctant Storyteller

Zaphod Beeblebrox plays Sherlock Holmes! Or, at least, Mark Wing-Davey, Zaphod in the original radio and television productions of "The Hitch-Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy", plays Holmes in this curious one-off by Derek Wilson, in which Holmes and Watson consider their creator, Arthur Conan Doyle. Andrew Hilton was Watson, having previously played the good doctor to Tim Pigott-Smith's Holmes in "The Valley of Fear", dramatised by Roy Apps. "The Mystery of the Reluctant Storyteller" was broadcast on BBC Radio 4 on 24 May 1986, two days after Conan Doyle's birthday. Roger
