Thank You Dwight, you are my favorite person tonight. Time Travel is my all time favorite type of Scifi and maybe it isn't scifi but just a reality we haven't tapped into yet. Anyways Thank You very much. --------------------------------- Rick
I have identified several theories of Time Travel as written in the literature.
Paradox Avodiance - The Universe will not allow paradox. The current state of the "present" is the result of the "past" and attempt to change it will sinmply not occur. Like trying to put two electrons in the same orbit with the same spin. It won't happen. (The Doomsday Book)
Multiverse Solution - every action causes a new reality to split off. Time travel is really a way to create new universes. You cannot go back to the universe you left. You may find one so similar that it can not be distinguished from you original but it is not the same. (Flight of the Horse (Larry Niven))
Asimov's solution - There is a parallel universe through which one can manipulate time. Changes do not effect the person in the parallel universe. They are joined at some point so manipulation can effect the "outsider" if it takes place earlt enough in the time line. (The End of Eternity)
As yet I havent classified The Time Patrol Books by Anderson - another excellent series.
I would also reccommend Dinosaur Beachj by Laumer - it is a very good satire on time travel
And of course - Time Machine by H G Wells - the archtype of time travel.

Rebel in time and The Technicolor Time Machine both by Harry Harrison were two of my favorites along with many on your list, but who knows i may find some new favorites from your list. H. Beam Piper had some excellent ones too, but I cannot remember the titles right now. I will let you know. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Rick
