Pilgrim By Sebastian Baczkiewicz (Series 1-4)
128K
What if all the myths and folktales of these islands were true? And what if they were not only true but present now in our world? All the spirits, existing, as they have always existed, in the gaps between tower blocks, in the shadows under bridges, in the corner of our vision...
Stepping slightly off the crooked path of fairy tales and into the undergrowth of folklore that sprawls alongside, I wanted to let you know about Pilgrim, a wonderful series of BBC Radio 4 plays by Sebastian Baczkiewicz inspired by the folklore of the British Isles.
William Palmer is 900 years old—he was cursed by a fellow pilgrim on the road to Canterbury in 1185 for claiming that Christianity would wipe out the old beliefs. That pilgrim was the Lord of Faerie and William must forever walk between the worlds of the Greyfolk (them) and the Hotbloods (us). Pilgrim is a delightful—and frequently chilling—mix of tales old and new.

Series 3 - 1. Crowsfall Wood
Poor William Palmer. On the downside, he still hasn’t cast off the 12th-century curse that leaves him in a limbo between our mortal world and that of the Greyfolk or faeries. On the upside, though, he still passes himself off as a man in his late 30s, despite being about 950 years old.
Sebastian Baczkiewicz’s dark fantasy drama series starts with a tale that brought to mind Bryan Ferry’s recent nuptials. Tadek, a 77-year-old man, happily married for over 50 years and one of Palmer’s spiritual charges, has eloped into Crowsfall Wood with a 24-year-old floozy called Cecilia. She must be a witch, a succubus, a siren.
But no. There’s a far darker storyline at work here, for the old man wooed by Cecilia’s attentions turns out to have savage supernatural powers of his own. Palmer has been making libations to keep Tadek safe but this year he forgot, and now events are taking a very eerie turn down in Crowsfall Wood…
New series. An old friend of Pilgrim's is possessed by a deadly forest spirit. Fantasy adventure, by Sebastian Baczkiewicz, with Paul Hilton, Karl Johnson, Faye Castelow, Susan Engel and Dudley Sutton. Continues next Thursday.

Series 4 - 1. Mullerby Fair
William Palmer, doomed to walk in a hinterland of the present day and fairyland — think malevolent marauders rather than Tinkerbell — is back for a new run of supernatural dramas. Writer Sebastian Baczkiewicz has an impressive knowledge of British folklore, and stitches ancient beliefs alongside modern mores with the deftness of an elfin shoemaker.
This opening story pits Palmer against an ancient foe called Mr Speed, who’s been visiting the same mortal family for hundreds of years on Midsummer’s Eve, claiming one of their women as his bride and taking her away to live with the Greyfolk. Palmer makes a Bruce Willis-style decision to end things right here, right now, regardless of risk, and there is an upsetting death by fire.
But, like all good fairy stories, evil characters can only get away with so much terror.

Poor William Palmer — the man who, 900 years ago, made fun of the fairy folk’s king on his way to a holy site and was cursed to a life of immortality — is back for a new series.
This time he is searching for the Radiant Boy, a mysterious figure whose appearance has more to do with impending death than anything bright, shiny or remotely happy. Palmer revisits Lyall Park, a country mansion with an ominous door that opens nightly on to a ballroom inhabited by the undead, dancing their way to dawn.
But why can he not recall his previous visit and could it be that the plight of these dancers was caused by Palmer himself?

Jane Anderson
William Palmer (aka Pilgrim, if he’s talking to one of the Greyfolk from the fairy world) is offered the ultimate choice in this concluding episode. He can accept the Greyfolk King’s offer of an end to his tormented eternal life on earth or he can sacrifice this opportunity and, in return, the sinister figure of the Radiant Boy — who he gets to meet at last — will free all the unhappy souls that he’s been holding in limbo.
Palmer is a decent man, but after centuries of walking alone, the promise of a final journey is extremely tempting.
4/4. By Sebastian Baczkiewicz. The immortal wanderer's quest for the Radiant Boy forces him to travel to the one place he has been forbidden to go. Fantasy drama, starring Paul Hilton. Last in the series.

Pilgrim - Series 5 LINK
So, well, i thought i´d ask Rik if he could kick the Moon into the Sun. He scratched his head a little bit and said to me "Funny you should ask." took a big kick, and there went the Moon. Then Rik flew after the moon and brought hin back, from the glares of the Sun!
Thank you, Rik! :)
Since there isn´t one existing right now, i created one! ;)
Thanks for this entire series.
Dwight
I thought it strange that they used the mask I used instead of a variation of the one used for the rest. Very nice, looks much better than the switch of pictures in the middle of the sets. You make beautiful pictures. ----------------------------- R
Y'all enjoy em. I saw the request. I went to my computer and it was already there. it was dated November when it came out. That was when I was switching computers and lost the hard drive. I am just getting my head above water again and had those in a folder to post. I said Funny you should ask because they were very near the top of the list and would have been posted within the week.
