On the eve of his marriage, the Earl of Harpenden puts up a drunken American Lieutenant for the night.  The Earl decides to fix the American up with a former girlfriend but the Earl's fiancee turns up instead.  A French officer, the fiance's spendthrift father, and the amorous ex-girlfriend are part of the frothy mix.
