Redbook Dramas

These dramas were originally published in Redbook Magazine and read by thousands of housewives across the country.The editor of the magazine, Edward Baumer, hand selected the best stories to be recreated on radio in dramatic form. At the opening of each program, Baumer would introduce each fascinating story and tell a bit about its author. Stories ranged from war tales, to tales of the Orient, to tales of an Illinois wife living on a mountain top near the equator in the tropics. Each story is engaging, lively and vivid, and gives us a glimpse into the world of 1930s housewives and their dreams.
