Big Bond Movie Themes

In the early 1970s the prolific conductor Geoff Love recorded half a dozen or so albums of film music for EMI's budget label, Music for Pleasure. This one is a cracker! I just wish it had also included John Barry's "007" theme from "From Russia with Love".

The next three... "Casino Royale" is the 1966 spoof, of course - nothing to do with the 2006 film, which introduced Daniel Craig as Bond. Burt Bacharach's jaunty theme always puts me in mind of Ron Goodwin's "Miss Marple" theme.

I'm probably in a minority here, but I'm firmly of the opinion that "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" was a vastly better film than "You Only Live Twice" - and was, in fact, the last great Bond movie for several years.

Always like the Geoff Love albums. I think there was one of his (the science fiction themes one) that I successively owned as an LP, a cassette and a CD over the years.
