THE NAKED MAGICIAN by Joanna Smyth

He didn’t really do his act naked, of course. Charlie Walker just went a little further than most magicians to prove that there was nothing up his sleeve. Charlie was good – very good. And famous. But then his wife died, and everything changed for him.

Irene, his bereavement counsellor, says that the best thing he can do is to start performing again. His agent Stan agrees (well, he would, wouldn’t he?) and after a pretty disastrous first booking, things do start to pick up – in ways that no one could have predicted. Unless, perhaps, they took his billing matter literally.
