THESE TWO STORIES, one from The Memoirs and one from The Return, are, in radio terms, among the most neglected of Sherlock Holmes's exploits. Both, of course, featured in BBC Radio 4's monumental dramatisation of the entire Canon, with Clive Merrison and Michael Williams as Holmes and Watson. The Three Students had also been produced for the BBC Light Programme in the mid-1950s, with Carleton Hobbs and Norman Shelley, but no recordings exist. And that's all.
Until now, that is. This recording represents the first collaboration between the Sherlock Holmes Society of London, Hosiprog Productions, writer M J Elliott, and the Old Court Radio Theatre Company.
JIM CROZIER and DAVE HAWKES play Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson, with MARK PRESTON, TRACEY HAMMOND, LINDSAY LLOYD, SIMON THOMAS, and BRIAN ADRIAN. The announcer is ANGIE BUDD. The plays were directed by Roger Johnson and produced by Dennis Rookard.
The scripts are copyright © 2006 by M J Elliott. The recorded production is copyright © 2006 by the Old Court Radio Theatre Company.
You'll find all the Old Court Radio Theatre Company's recordings on the Sherlock Holmes Society of London's website at https://www.sherlock-holmes.org.uk/category/podcasts/.
