BBC World Service
Thirty Minute Theatre
Haunted - 26 Shows
Late 1970s to Mid 1980s
The best of the Best. These tales are from authors like Algernon Blackwood, Bram Stoker, Agatha Christie, J.B Priestley, Wilkie Collins, HG Wells, Ray Bradbury. Isaac Asimov and many others of the best in the macabre. These were released recently by the BBC online and are not the high sound quality I am used to posting. Most are at a 32k bitrate, but amazingly the sound is from fairly good to quite good. They are tales that should not be missed from a plethora of excellent authors. They are excellent from the content standpoint. So turn off the lights, sit back and enjoy HAUNTED!

Great stuff, thanks a lot. I heard them advertised on BBC 4extra recently but wasn't able to catch any so this is ideal.
All 15 that were broadcast on 4 Extra are here @ 192K in the second post. The 26 are from the opening of the BBC World Service files, but only in 64 K. 15 of the 64K shows are the same as the 15 broadcast on 4 Extra but in much less quality. They are quite good. ----------------------- Rick

Rick -
Thanks for introducing me to a new series.
Bob
Thank you!!!!!!!
I am not a big collector in the horror genre, but there are some authors that I do follow -- and I see a few of them on this collection.
Thanks for sharing these.
You and me both Mike, but some of the authors, well in a word, I too am surprised to see them here. I rather think that they are here because the piece is supernatural of paranormal rather that Scary Horror. ----- Rick
This set might be the answer to my prayer for more good horror material to listen to. Thanks, Rik!!!
I think the Beeb is beginning to rebroadcast this. If the encodes have been reworked and are better I will replace the encodes at a later date. These sound fine as is though. ---------------------- Rick
Better encodes are appearing on certain torrent sites. I'm grabbing them as fast as they appear. :>)
Not nearly complete yet, but still going.
