A farcical tale of a treasure hunt on an Aran island - Inishgowlan - in which the Reverend Meldon, a sporting Anglican curate, is pitched against the beastly Sir Giles Buckley. Meldon is helping Major Kent, whose estate stands at risk to Buckley. Bit players include islanders and government officials.
George A. Birmingham was the pseudonym of Rev. James Owen Hannay (1865-1950).
Spanish Gold was first published in 1908.
