A man returns home with his bride-to-be, an actress, who turns out to be the sister of his family's maid. The former lover of the Hollywood actress, a Hollywood star himself goes on a drinking binge and also shows up at the house.
Bill Fraser plays a splendidly cynical butler in the Household and chaos ensues at Marshwood as the relative values of the post-war class system are revealed.
