I don't believe it! Victor Meldrew comes to BBC 7.
One Foot in the Grave is a comedy television series that debuted on BBC in January of 1990.
The story centers around the grouchy and recently retired Victor Meldrew (played by Richard Wilson) and his long suffering wife Margaret
(played by Annette Crosbie). Forced into early retirement Victor tries to keep himself busy and ends up in a number of odd (and sometimes surreal) situations.
Episode 1 of 4 - Alive and Buried
Car trouble, conjuring, outward bound schemes for the elderly and kerb-crawling are
just some of the highlights of Victor Meldrew's first week of early retirement.
Adapted from TV.
From January 1995 with Richard Wilson and Annette Crosbie.

Lovely, shame they only did a few but the set up was a lot more based on visual comedy than (say) Dad’s Army, Steptoe, To the Manor Born, etc

They say I might as well face the truth.
That I'm just too long in the tooth.
Oh I'm an O.A.P. and weak-kneed
But I have not yet quite gone to seed.
I may be over the hill now that I have retired.
Fading away but I'm not yet expired.
Clapped out, rundown, too old to save
