Based on Thomas Hood's epic poem - a comic tale of greed and corruption in Victorian London. With James Grout and Rachel Atkins.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Miss Kilmansegg is the spoilt, silly daughter of a banker, who insists on having an artificial limb made out of gold after she loses one of her legs in a riding accident.

The golden limb attracts much attention and makes her the talk of the town, bringing her to the notice of a ruthless but charming con man who, posing as a French aristocrat, successfully proposes marriage.

Once he lays his hands on the young woman's fortune, he proceeds to squander it until the coffers are empty, at which point he does something rather dastardly with the unfortunate girl's golden leg.

A truly cautionary tale.
