Julian & Sandy - Vada! Absolutely fantabulosa!

I was sure that The Bona Album of Julian and Sandy had been posted here before, but it seems to have vanished into the ether. No matter! Hugh Paddick and Kenneth Williams may have shuffled off this mortal coil, along with the writers, Barry Took and Marty Feldman, and the legendarily imperturbable Kenneth Horne, but their camp creations for Round the Horne live on.

Here you'll find both The Bona Album and the slightly different Bona Cassette of Julian and Sandy. Both were recorded some 10 years after Kenneth Horne's untimely death brought the series to an equally untimely end, so the straight man, billed simply as "Man", is played by Barry Took.

Here also is The Bona History of Julian and Sandy, a half-hour documentary first broadcast in 1998 and presented by Maureen Lipman. It includes a lesson in Palare (now usually spelled Polari), the gay language that began as showmen's and grafters' cant, and an interview with the songwriter/dramatists Julian Slade and Sandy Wilson, whose names were appropriated.
