After-Supper Ghost Stories

I was tempted to post this in the Horror group - after all, Jerome K Jerome did write one or two very effective weird tales! But he's best known for his humorous writing, and "After-Supper Ghost Stories" is definitely a comedy. You'll recognise the style of the man who wrote "Three Men in a Boat", no trouble. This adaptation, with that excellent farceur Dinsdale Landen in the lead, was broadcast on BBC Radio 4 in December 1992. Roger

  • Jerome K Jerome  ...  Ford Maddox Ford  ...  William Carlos Williams ...

How come no one gets named that way anymore?

    Just curious.

    • Ford Maddox Ford was born Ford Maddox Hueffer. He chose his new surname at a time of anti-German sentiment in Britain during the First World War, so you can't blame his parents for the duplication!
