I was tempted to post this in the Horror group - after all, Jerome K Jerome did write one or two very effective weird tales! But he's best known for his humorous writing, and "After-Supper Ghost Stories" is definitely a comedy. You'll recognise the style of the man who wrote "Three Men in a Boat", no trouble. This adaptation, with that excellent farceur Dinsdale Landen in the lead, was broadcast on BBC Radio 4 in December 1992.

Jerome K Jerome ... Ford Maddox Ford ... William Carlos Williams ...
How come no one gets named that way anymore?
Just curious.
Ford Maddox Ford was born Ford Maddox Hueffer. He chose his new surname at a time of anti-German sentiment in Britain during the First World War, so you can't blame his parents for the duplication!
