The series continued on until 1-3-92 in a very haphazard manner and under a large variety of series names. A great many of those shows were repeats. I may in the future add those additional shows, but I'm not sure it's worth it.

If you have 128K upgrades for any of the posted shows that are 32K and 64K please post here.  Also if you have any of the missing shows at any bitrate please also post.

  • Such riches! Many thanks.
    • As far as I can see since it is not my set, it is Robert's,  that 34 thru 50 are missing .  My set was all 32k except for a couple and the same ones were missing.  I found a couple and tried to integrate them but I really have difficulties with tagging.  I am trying to learn but the process is slow and still quite faulty.  I just knew that some were missing and checked against my set and both had the same shows missing except for the Cabinet of Doctor Fritz and I added that set.  Why do you think I refer to you as the tag wizard because I only mess them up still, but I do have an occasional success.  -------------------------------------  R

    • Tagging is almost automatic if you have the right tools. There are several good ones. I use a couple as each has strong points. For example, I tagged all the "It's a Crime" set in under ten minutes.

As soon as i finish my coffee, I'll do the same for the Australian "Fat Man." :>)

As for the so-called "missing" episodes, I 'm not sure they are actually "missing." The show had several periods where it was off the air. Years ago, someone numbere the shows as if the broadcasts were continuous. I suspect that this, rather than missing episodes, is the cause of the gap.  I've written to Jake turk and Ian grieve (the recognized experts on AU radio) and await their advice.

    • Some of the episodes, 2 I know of for sure are there but either have x fir dates or are dated in the opposite system with the month first instead of the year or vice-versa.  Either way it is the opposite of the others.  My set doesn't have the extra shows with x for a date but my set is all 32K and 16K, it's even painful to write it. LOL   That is Robert's set I posted, I think.  He said has was better than mine, well not much The four 128K shows I acquired recently.  and replaced in the set.  I tried to renumber and tag but my tagger would put them elsewhere in the list.  I use mp3tag.  it is one of the few that does the hidden tags too.  I got it when I was buying Graphic Audio because that was where they hid personal data to track people posting their stuff.  --------------------  R

    • Robert's set is posted at the OTRRG. (That's what he links to)  That group is excellent for preserving shows, but their historical accuracy is sometimes questionable. In addition, their tags are god-awful.

I've retagged and retitled the Aussie Fat man set, using your favorite tool, mp3tag.  :>)

    • Maybe someday you can give me a crash course in how to use it properly.  I think I made a breakthrough in doing multiple sets, but I still have a problem with getting them to display in order.  I had one set that had the numbers in the title.  and I wanted to do the numbering but they would not display in order no matter what I did so the consecutive numberer would work.  I finally got frustrated and sat there and did it singly.  That was fine because the numbering matched the numbers in the title but they still refused to display in order.  Finally I just left them and went to bed.  LOL.  -----------------------  R

    • If at first, you don't succeed, try again. If you still don't succeed, give up. No sense making a damn fool of yourself .... :>P

    • You are right there.  I found 2 more 128K shows on my computer and replaced them in the post.  Now there are 6 - 128K shows.  Post yours, would you please? -R-

  • I have a few upgrades for you at 128 and a smattering at 80, but i have to go through the set, as my numbering is off.

I don't see any notation on the list above as to which shows are missing.
