Thanks just got these so will be listening soon - it's great to have someone putting up new items for us all
Thanks
Thank you for these.
Did the download - how do I open file? Windows says it can't open rar file.
Use Winrar or winzip or 7zip, just google it and get one of the free compressed file openers. 7zip is free, just be careful and read everything when you download and install it. Say no to any other offers during installation or you will end up with a computer full of crap. The 7Zip program is good just read carefully when installing. ---- R
I especially liked the Klondike story.
Getting your gear to the top of the hill
without having it stolen was priceless.
My father-in-law told me the (possibly apocryphal)
story of the Rich Man thru the Eye of the Needle parable.
This has always confused me.
Seems one of the Twelve Gates to the city of Jerusalem
was nick-named The Eye of the Needle,
the same way we'd call the poorly designed
confluence of two urban interstates
Spaghetti Junction.
So when the rich merchant leading a camel,
overladen with bulging saddlebags, he'd have to
unload the cargo and carry it through, piece by piece,
leaving it unguarded at the other end, to the delight
of opportunistic thieves at both ends.
Hence, it is easier for a camel to pass through
the eye of a needle....
In recent years, I've read that this explanation
was invented by some preacher in the 1800's,
with no basis in fact. There goes another treasured
memory of my father-in-law as a fount of wisdom.
Sometimes the Internet can be a real know-it-all.
And a bit of a jerk.
Thanks, Rick! These look great.
Thanks as always. I think some of my favorite audio productions are the CBC sponsored shows. They seem to create such imaginative landscapes unlike any other on the radio. Hoping to hear more selections from Canada's radio artists.
I(f you had to spend eleven months every year stuck in a Canadian winter and the exterior landscape was always white, you would have plenty of time to exercise your imagination ... :>)
