The shows that are being kept are representative of the shows that appeared that are the Vanguard of the Revival of Radio like it used to be. The Radio that we all love. I can think of a few others that belong in this exalted list of shows. Shows like The CBS Radio Mystery Theater and the Multitude of entertainment from NPR like 2000X. Can you think of additions that belong on this list? All nominees will be considered. No shows or networks that already have a group will be considered like Springbok. The BBC for this Group will not be eligible for inclusion since the BBC was the lifeline for the Dramatic Radio for the world while other countries went to music. Another reason for the exclusion of the BBC is that it has so many wonderful facets that permeate almost every group on this site that it would be too Large an undertaking to move it all to one group. There are 60 years of Wonderful BBC shows that were basically what sustained us during this dark time in other countries.
I know that there are many other Radio enthusiasts who frequent this site that have their Favorites from around the World that should be included on this group and haven't been named by me for inclusion in Radio Revival. First off we should pick a starting year for shows. Is there anyone that can tell me when Dramatic Radio had it's drastic downswing? Was it in 1950? Was it before 1950 or was it after 1950? The shows I have picked were well into the decline in the US. The next big question is, Should we include the big audio Revival with internet only audio and things like Graphic Audio and others like ZBS and Big Finish? I need your opinions to complete the concept. I also need nominations for inclusions into the group. I have made mine with Imagination Theater, Crisis, CBSRMT and 2000X. Now it is your turn. Lets take until November 25 (Thanksgiving in the US) to write what we want and why it should be included. That should also tell us what our cutoff dates are on both ends. Should it be 1950 to the present or are there other dates that would be better and why?

For another show, how about the Seeing Ear productions (Tales from the Crypt, City of Dreams, etc.) Were they on the radio, or were they web only? I don't know as I missed them all till it was too late, and have only heard some of the mp3s.
Perhaps a category REVIEWING them with links to the RSS feed pages?
As for SET, I have all of them in Hi-Q, properly numbered. PM me if you want them.
I don't know that much about the Seeing Ear Productions whether they were ever Broadcast. Does anyone know? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rick
You do have wonderful things in your sorcerers bag Mr. Roberts. Sounds like in 24 hours we have a plan.
CBSRMT itself is going to be a bear, not to mention some of the others, but I do think it will be worth it to have our own collection of what we consider Radio Revival. ---------------------------------- Rick
And if audio drama ever does return more to radio....a lot of the success will be from the popularity and the momentum of the internet podcast..
But it's not for the purpose of this particular group Radio Revival, I agree.
I have all the CBSMT on disk (I wanted all the shows so I bought them)..I'm sure others do too.
Maybe we could all have a hand at those 1k lot of shows.
Some of mine do have commercials too.
I like Bob's idea of linking to all the internet audio drama shows that are being podcast... as it will bring attention to those some may not know about without taking up space here..
Some are spectacular and deserve attention..although Dave's nailed many of them.
I love Seeing Ear..and will try to find out if it was ever broadcast.
I think we may want to define the scope more clearly as multi-cast audio drama productions made between 1962 to present, identified by production group (or using a theater term, "company" or "troupe"): We may want to keep in mind that, twenty years from now, in addition to enjoying these productions, we will be looking at these as specific artifacts: Original multi-cast audio drama productions (or recreations of originals) made by specific people with writing and sound skills and voices (audio drama companies/troupes). Some of these multi-cast audio dramatic productions were created in the 1970-80s and broadcast (because there was enough of a market), and some were not broadcast but sold as a product, as records/cassettes at bookstores (because the market was smaller). The internet merely provided the audio drama troupes/producers another transmission medium for their original dramatic productions.
So, if one was looking at this as the book of "The Story of Radio Revival in North America: Sustaining Audio Drama through the Dark Ages", the first sections (1960s, 70s, 80s), could list shows by production company/troupe, and the last section (internet of the Present) could be a page of current dramatic production groups with web links.
Thoughts?
