Many thanks. Philip Levene worked on ‘The Avengers’ series. The abbreviated copy makes it hard to follow but it’s amazing that anything so old still exists. All the caht about tea & cakes made me very hungry.
It still amazes me how you manage to find all these radio plays in the first place! All I manage to gather is through the googly machine :) Thanks again!
I subscribe to Usenet which has 5 groups devoted to the BBC and 4 other OTR groups, besides many audio book groups. There are approximately 50,000 groups on Usenet for movies and other things including some very unsavory XXX groups which I steer clear of. I am old and maybe in my youth I might have peeked, but alas I am over the Hill and disabled. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rick
That is the most wonderful thing that anyone has ever said to me on here. I am simply ecstatic that I have given to someone the gift of radio. Thank You for telling me this. ---------------------- Rick
The file seems to be truncated every now and then. I found a different version of the same play here: The Weather for Murder hosted on otrrlibrary.org. I don't know much of its origin, but quite enjoyable still.
That was all that was available in 2009 when I posted it. The one you have is Playhouse 90 from either the US or from Springbok Radio in SA. The one I posted is BBC. If it is US then it actually ran before the one I posted. Playhouse 90 ran from 1956-1961 in the US and the BBC production ran first in 1962. I am unsure of the dates for Springbok Radio's Playhouse 90. They are both from the same author and the differences are due to different authors of the Radioplays, but are both basically the same story. ----------------------------------- Rick

Far from over the hill and disabled, your generosity has ignited some kind of passion in me for all things radio!
