Agatha Christie is more than the most popular mystery writer of all time. In a career that spans over half a century, her name is synonymous with brilliant deception, ingenious puzzles, and the surprise denouement. By virtually inventing the modern mystery novel she has earned her title as the Queen of Crime. Curious? Then you're invited to Listen To....THE SITTAFORD MYSTERY
M-U-R-D-E-R. It began as an innocent parlor game intended to while away the hours on a bitter winter night.
But the message that appeared before the amateur occultists at the snowbound Sittaford House was spelled out as loud and clear as a scream. Of course, the notion that they had foretold doom was pure bunk. Wasn't it? And the discovery of a corpse was pure coincidence. Wasn't it? If they're to discover the answer to this baffling murder, perhaps they should play again. But a journey into the spirit world could prove terribly dangerous-especially when the killer is lurking in this one.
If anyone has the cast of this play Please Post so that I may incorporate it into the post.
This BBC Radio 4xtra presentation has not been topped and Tailed as I am very inept at it.

Thank you Rick. My wife loves Agatha Christie books. I'm more of a full cast, audio drama, kind of guy. We will both enjoy this.
My notes have a few small differences from Gordonio's - the play was not directed by Bakewell, but by Enyd Williams. There are a few other differences. Corrections to my notes welcomed.

The Sittaford Mystery
Agatha Christie
1990
A blizzard has hit England. In the tiny village of Sittaford, on the fringes of Dartmoor, a party of six is gathered in Sittaford House. Captain Trevelyan, owner of the house, has rented it out for the winter and is staying in a nearby village.
As the evening draws in, a seance is proposed. But it reveals more than they anticipated when the board spells out TREVELYAN DEAD. Slowly the table begins to rock again and fear grips the party as the sinister word appears - MURDER.
Is it true? And who would kill a man who doesn't have an enemy in the world?

Thanks, Bob,
I transcribed the cast credits from the announcer reading the names at the end of each episode of the recording which I have. I checked the spelling of the actors and actresses names by searches for BBC radio appearances or other UK citations but I mistakenly transcribed David Goudge's name by copying a reference on Wikipedia for a "David Googe" on the BBC Radio drama "Rogue Male", Michael Kilgarriff with another reference to "Kigareth" for another BBC radio production and missed the credits for Brian Pearson and David King. Your listings are complete and correct.:)
On the recordings which I have, the (female) announcer at the end of each episode lists the participants of that episode and finishes with, and I quote "... the Sittaford Mystery was dramatised and directed by Michael Bakewell".
Curious ... the CD version clearly credits as I offered, but you are correct that the radio announcer credits Bakewell ...
I have a slight hearing deficit and have difficulty with catching names with some British pronunciations. I tried to do that but gave up after many consecutive listens to the readers own name. it really irks me when I cannot be as complete as I would like on the text descriptions. Thank You so very much for doing this for me, both of you. I find it curious that I have no trouble with the spoken word except with names. -------------------------- R
I sometimes have the same problem, Dick ...err...Nick ... err.. Rock ... :>P
