"ROOM TO LET" by Margery Allingham

ROOM TO LET

Dr Charles was a quiet man, but when he took a room at Mrs Musgrave's house fear moved in with him. And murder.

They called it the Miracle of Marlborough Road - the case of the shot without a gun.

Who killed Dr Charles?

And how...?

"Room to Let" was Margery Allingham's only full-length radio play, first broadcast on the BBC Light Programme in November 1947. No recordings of that, or of the two subsequent transmissions, are known to exist. This production by the Old Court Radio Theatre Company was made in 2000, in partnership with the Margery Allingham Society.

Just had a chance to listen to this. I agree absolutely that Carr would have been proud of the mystery.

    Thanks.

    • Hope you enjoy it. The play is a real cracker, with a locked-room mystery that John Dickson Carr would have been proud of!
