Ted Lewis's British crime classic became famous as the cult movie Get Carter. This is a new version for radio by Nick Perry.

Jack Carter is played by Hugo Speer; Margaret is played by Katherine Dow Blyton; Doreen is played by Laura Molyneux; Mrs Garfoot is played by Tracy Wiles; Eric is played by Ben Crowe; and Keith is played by Joe Sims. Other parts are played by Sam Alexander and Patrick Brennan.

His discovery that Doreen, Frank's 15-year-old daughter, had appeared in a pornographic film produced by local gangster Cyril Kinnear drives him to seek out the film's co-star, Thorpey.

    I missed episode 1 of this and I was really quite disappointed, so I'm delighted you've posted it. 

    Re the movie that Bob talked about being excellent - it absolutely is. I'd say it's probably about the most popular and highly regarded British crime film ever, with an absolute killer jazz soundtrack.
