Irish writer Bill Murphy made his radio drama debut with the highly successful BBC Woman's Hour thriller 'Fractions of Zero'. An exciting detective story about the hunt for a serial killer obsessed with numbers, its hero is DS Sue Manson, grounded behind a desk at the Met’s Missing Person’s Bureau after accidentally shooting a man in an undercover operation. However, she soon uncovers a potential serial killer who is mocking the police around Britain by sending them cryptograms on the back of missing person’s photos. Murphy turned this intriguing thriller into a novel (of the same name) before penning two further Sue Manson radio entries: The Final Sacrament (concerning Sue's hunt for a killer fixated with religious Renaissance art) and Fragments of Amy (in which Sue has to find a missing heiress whose abductor appears to have an obsession with twins).
