Professor Wyatt is called to Majorca after Professor Newman, a colleague who had been doing field research, is discovered on a donkey track, naked and comatose. Newman had been studying the visit of George Sand and Frederic Chopin to the Carthusian Monastery in Valldemossa, but something seems to have gone badly wrong. Wyatt finds that, in addition to his other misdemeanors, Professor Newman is under suspicion of stealing Chopin's piano...
