Bonecrack – Dick Francis
A BBC Radio 4 full-cast dramatisation of Dick Francis’s exciting thriller of extortion and blackmail in the world of horse-racing.
Two ruthless men erupt one night into Neil Griffon’s life and abduct him. They had planned to capture his father, but he is in hospital, leaving Neil in charge of his multi-million-pound stables. The mastermind behind the abduction is crime czar Enso Rivera, who presents Neil with an ultimatum: he must employ a new jockey, or Rivera will destroy his father’s business – and worse. The newcomer is only eighteen, and inexperienced, but he is to take over from the stable’s star jockey and ride Griffon’s superstar horse, Archangel, in the Derby. And the horse must win. There is no room for negotiation, for the boy, Alessandro, is Rivera’s son. At first, Alessandro alienates everyone with his arrogant ways. But, as he adjusts to the discipline of stable life, he begins to respect Griffon and looks set to become a talented jockey. Alessandro’s father, however, shows no sign of changing his mind, and taunts Griffon with threats as to what will happen if his instructions are disobeyed. But dark threats, violence and even cold-blooded murder fail to deter Griffon from taking control and running things his way. This gripping dramatisation features a star cast including Francis Matthews, Mark Colleano and Caroline Blakiston.

Thank you for the Dick Francis material.
If anyone is interested, here's the recent R7 broadcast "Proof". It's an 8 parter and it's pretty decent audio quality, so it's combined size is 276 MB http://ge.tt/2nEYY4H
Many Thanks David. You really should, if you want people to notice your post, place it by itself, as here though they will have to stumble into this wonderful surprise. ------------------------------------------------- Rick
Any interest?
I have a better copy of this one - 128/44 stereo, recorded from a BBC7 replay.
