Some time in the 1920s in a compartment of the Glasgow to London sleeping-car express, two men and a woman fall into exchanging stories about strange railway crimes. But the travellers become aware that another story is emerging - one in which they are all involved and which is hurtling towards an extraordinary conclusion.
