The question concerning the authorship of the CBC Mystery Project being similar to Imagination Theater is an interesting one. The authors are not the same they are different and for a good reason. The CBC, back in the early 1990s, commissioned Canadian authors from all the different provinces to write a character that would reflect the diversity and uniqueness of those provinces. Authors like James W. Nichols, John R. Wright, Don Druick, Alf Silver, and Paul Ledoux created characters that presented the areas their characters either hailed from or settled in. From Halifax to Victoria, BC to Toronto their characters described the province and the people you were likely to meet. To me the CBC series was fantastic and truly represented radio drama and mystery in the best light. I might suggest listening to many of them because they are entertaining and educational too. Recipe for Murder by Don Druick represents the Quebec province of Canada and is a good representation of what the CBC was trying to present to Canadians. Check it out along with Midnight Cab, Flynn, The Investigations of Quentin Nickels, and all the other CBC Mystery Project offerings. I don't think you will be displeased with them.
Is this the same author of the CBC Mystery Project? Seems like. Thanks.

Jim French owns Jim French Productions in Bellevue, Washington.
He is not associated with the CBC Mystery Project.
Not sure about that, Jim French is one of the head people at Imagination Theater and Pat is his wife. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- R
Thank you for these, Rick!
These were produced several years ago by a company called Topics Entertainment. We had a licensing agreement with them for a short while. We prepared the shows and they all the packaging which frankly we weren't that fond of. Enjoy.
Four sets of Jim French Productions shows on were released for sale in 2003 by Topics Entertainment.
The sets were sold as:
Act One Audio Mysteries
Act One Audio Sci-Fi
Act One Audio Suspense
Act One Audio Thrillers
Each 3 compact discs set contained a mixture of 9 Crisis episodes and Stand-Alone shows from KIRO Mystery Playhouse and/or Imagination Theatre.
All 36 shows contained in these sets have Previously Aired at least once on Imagination Theatre.
I like the stories. I have one other, the Scifi one and I really enjoyed them all. ------------------ R
