Duration 75 minutes

Farce meets political satire as 'The Maniac' upends the status quo at a police station where a questionable "suicide" has occurred.

The play is based on events involving a real person, Giuseppe Pinelli, who fell - or was thrown - from the fourth floor window of a Milan police station in 1969. He was accused of bombing a bank (the Piazza Fontana bombing). The accusation is widely seen as part of the Italian Far Right's strategy of tension. The events of the play, however, are fictional.

With Adrian Edmondson [The Maniac], Stephen Frost [Insp. Bertozzo], Jill Gascoine [The Superintendent], John Forgeham [Insp. Pissani], Mark Steel [The Constables], and Jennifer Saunders [Maria Feletti, an investigative journalist].

Produced and directed by Turan Ali
