  • I remember coming home from school and turning on the old black and white set and sitting in front of it being scared by Barnabus and by the Dark Shadows magic.  I can not imagine what it will be like to close my eyes and be in Collinwood with the DS characters now these many years hence.   I look forward to listening to it tonight as another storm approaches.

    Thanks,

    Bob

    • I was pretty young when I would watch the show peeking around from the back of the tv and then ducking back when things got scarey.  Wanted to watch but afraid to see the scarey parts....  :)  The soap opera that was on after Dark Shadow was called The Edge of Night.  The opening credits showed a city as the sun was setting and shadows were creeping up the buildings....after Dark Shadows that opening bit was kinda scarey too.

    • Another horror soap of the time was Strange Paradise. It was on around noon,so you had to have a really good reason to be home at that time of the day to watch it.

    • I was ill and got to see most of one year.  I was upset when my Rheumatic Fever got better enough to go back to school.  I had to hurry home then to see it.  -----------------------------  Rick

    • Love Dark Shadows so I will give Strange Paradise a viewing.  I notice that Youtube has over 200 episodes. Thank you for the tip on a unknown series (to me..at least)

  • You come up with such surprises!!! Thanks
