Book 1: The Baker Street Letters

First in a spectacular new series about two brother lawyers who lease offices on London's Baker Street--and begin receiving mail addressed to Sherlock Holmes

In Los Angeles, a geological surveyor maps out a proposed subway route—and then goes missing. His eight-year-old daughter in her desperation turns to the one person she thinks might help—she writes a letter to Sherlock Holmes.

That letter creates an uproar at 221b Baker Street, which now houses the law offices of attorney and man about town Reggie Heath and his hapless brother Nigel. Instead of filing the letter like he’s supposed to, Nigel decides to investigate. Soon he’s flying off to L.A., inconsiderately leaving a very dead body on the floor in his office. Big brother Reggie follows Nigel to California, as does Reggie’s sometime lover, Laura – a quick-witted stage actress who’s captured the hearts of both brothers.

When Nigel is arrested, Reggie must use all his wits to solve a case that Sherlock Holmes would have savored, and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle fans will adore.

Book 2: The Brothers of Baker Street

The second in a highly original and absolutely marvelous series about two brother lawyers who lease offices on London's Baker Street--and begin receiving mail addressed to Sherlock Holmes

When brothers Reggie and Nigel Heath choose 221B Baker Street as the location for their law office, they don’t expect that their new office space would come with one huge stipulation, answering the letters sent to Sherlock Holmes, the most famous resident of that address.

Reggie is distressed because the love of his life, actress Laura Rankin (whom Nigel also adores), is gallivanting around with media mogul Lord Buxton. And while Reggie is working on a new case involving one of London’s Black Cab drivers who is accused of murdering two American tourists, the letters to Sherlock Holmes are piling up. There s even one from someone who claims to be the descendent of Professor James Moriarty.

With a case that would have puzzled even Sherlock himself and a pair of brother sleuths more different than night and day, The Brothers of Baker Street is sure to please mystery fans whatever their address.

  • 1. After trying and failing to guess the combination on an office filing cabinet,
Nigel says "Give me a paperclip" and proceeds to "pick the lock". Hmmm...
most have "one or the other", sometime "both" for added security,
    never "either" for reduced security.

    2. Reggie discovers secret GPS computer lab, but earlier detailed descriptions of
house, driveway and grounds do not mention any satellite dishes. There would
be several and they would be quite prominent.

    3. Floor of computer monitors do not respond when he tests, then later all come
on at once on their own. "'They must be on a timer,' checking his watch and noting the
    time was 11 o'clock precisely."

    4. Many, many "coincidences" that are meant to foreshadow an intricate conspiracy,
but Occam's Razor would better attribute to a lazy author (or more likely, a lazy editor).

    5. On the plus side, it is quite well read, good background and color of "the City",
and an engaging yarn. When Bluto told the Frats "Did we give up when the Germans
bombed Pearl Harbor?", Boon says, "Forget it, he's rolling!".
