Christmas With The Detectives

A lovely little series of readings with Tom Conte called"Christmas With The Detectives", 2006 from BBC Radio 2.  There are 4 episodes and here are the first 2. Nothing like a little mayhem and brilliant detecting to start the Holiday season off right.

Episode 1 - The Blue Carbuncle

Episode 2 - The Thieves Who Couldn't Help Sneezing

  • Great stuff. The Blue Carbuncle for me and the Thomas Hardy one for my mother.

  • Just a quick summary of the four stories:

1/4. In Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's story, The Blue Carbuncle, Sherlock Holmes investigates the theft of a diamond.

2/4. In Thomas Hardy's Wessex, horse thieves and house breakers are roaming the moors in The Thieves Who Couldn't Help Sneezing.

3/4. Dorothy L Sayers' Lord Peter Wimsey investigates a theft at a county house party in The Necklace of Pearls.

4/4. GK Chesterton's Father Brown investigates a jewel theft that happens during a pantomime in The Flying Stars.

    • Thank You Sir.  ------------------------------------------------------  Rick
