Archy McNally by Lawrence Sanders

Archibald "Archy" McNally was a fictional character created by bestselling novelist Lawrence Sanders. He is the protagonist of thirteen novels, seven by Sanders and six by Vincent Lardo, who took over the series following Sanders' death in 1998.

Archy is a 37 year old bachelor who lives in Palm Beach, Florida. His family is reasonably wealthy, and he occupies a suite of rooms on the third floor of his parents house. He also works for his father. The elder McNally is a lawyer with a stable of insanely wealthy clients who often make unusual demands of him. Archy is the head (and sole employee) of the Department for Discreet Inquiries. He handles all those unusual requests, and generally solves problems. He also generally trips across a body or two in the process.

Setting

The setting of the McNally series is Palm Beach, Florida. Recurring locales include the fictional Pelican Club, the offices of McNally and Son, as well as the estates of the McNally family and Lady Cynthia Horowitz.

Characters

In addition to the title character, the series sees a plethora of recurring characters such as Sgt. Al Rogoff of the Palm Beach Police Department, Lady Cynthia Horowitz, Prescott McNally, Binky Watrous, Connie Garcia and the Pettibone and Olson families.

  • You don't have to put "on A-Drive" on all your posts.  Your posts are excellent no matter where they are stored.  You appeared to be having difficulty with your old storage place and we were just trying to help.  As always, Thank You very much for these.  We're here to help each other enjoy a common Hobby.  Any time you want to give help when we are having difficulties doing something you have a solution for, feel free.  One hand washes the other.  ------------------  R

    • Sorry about that, I had previously posted the Archy McNally Series, the Rex Stout Series, and the Cat Who Series on megaupload. I was simply trying to distinguish these post from the past (and outdated) post. My next step is to find and remove the outdated post.

    • Both searches are now working.  The site search is upper right corner all pages.  It is good for recent stuff only.  The group search is probably your best bet for finding them.  It will only search in the one group you are in but it fins old and new stuff in the group you are searching.  The only problem is that you have to do it for every group you search if you are not sure which one your post is in.  On the right directly across from starting a discussion or post you will see "View All"  if you select this your search window will be on the left top of the next screen that opens.  Good hunting!  ----------------------  R
